A visitor to Canada chooses ICDL Certification
Natalja Ziva, new to Canada, is recently from Latvia where she had completed her early training in music — voice.
Her uncle here in Canada encouraged her to add computer use skills to her repertoire. She did, very successfully!
Used Self-Paced Study
Natalja followed the ICDL self-paced training material published by CiA Training and localized for use in Canada. It consists of 7 booklets, one for each of ICDL’s seven modules with a series of downloadable files that support practice exercises delivered in the booklets. (The booklets and tests are available to reflect Windows XP and Office 2003 or Windows Vista and Office 2007.)
Found Diagnostic Tests helpful
Natalja also decided to use some of the ICDL Diagnostic Tests. These are done on-line without the Proctor being required. They are very comprehensive and help the ICDL Candidates focus on areas needing further skill development. They can save time in study and practice effort and help candidates to know when they are ready to attack the proctored Certification Tests.
Encouragement for Self-Improvement
Natalja decided to write a note to other students:¦
Dear Future Students:
I, Natalja Ziva, highly recommend the computer training and Certification offered by ICDL. It contains seven modules: Basic IT, Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer/Outlook. It gives great knowledge about computer literacy. The course is well prepared and contains a book for each program. Before certification of each module, I recommend that students buy the diagnostic test. It is very supportive for the final exam.
Yours truly
Natalja Ziva, March 10th, 2009
The ICDL Affirms Her Computer Use Skill in Canada
Natalja’s successful pursuit of the ICDL CORE Certification was exciting for her
. She knows that it is recognized in 167 countries around the world and that many Canadian Colleges and Universities will grant advanced standing and transfer credit. She realizes that computer use skill is important for success in higher education. Getting ICDL not only helped her attain proficiency in computer use but also gives her recognizable proof of her ability.
One ICDL Diagnostic Test Now Free for each Custom Testing Registrant
Recognizing Natalja’s enthusiasm for Diagnostic Tests, we will now include one diagnostic test free of charge with every Custom Testing registration. The candidate can choose which module they wish to use the free test for. The tests are only accessible by registered candidates for ICDL. They are available for $20 each or $120 for a set of seven tests. The results are always accessible by the candidates through their on-line testing log-in.
Natalja, Confident in Her Computer Skills, will Pursue Life in Canada
Natalia plans to spend some time back home this summer and will return to Canada this Fall to start a program in higher education. She intends to be a landed immigrant.
